Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (SRI) is conducting a voluntary recall of the Scootline SX01 motor scooter tyres sold under the Dunlop brand due to the potential weakening of the adhesion of the components and chunking of the tyre treads.

- 130/70-13M 63P DUNLOP SX01 RF : 30 tyres
- Description of the defect:
Tread chunking on the top ply of the affected tyre models. This condition will first appear as a vibration in service. - Possible risks and outcome
If consumers continue to use the vehicle despite the defect, the defect may lead to chunking of the tread and result in possible loss of control and vehicle damage. No accidents causing personal injury have been reported to date.

SRI will replace the affected tyre models with improved tyres free of charge, inclusive of mounting/dismounting charges. Consumers who wish to have their tyres replaced may do so at the dealership/retail points where they purchased the tyres or call the following for advice:
