The Consumer Council today (July 29) launches a month long online user survey in a bid to enhance transparency in price structure, incentives and rebates of fixed residential broadband services in the market.
The Council's past studies showed that consumers were faced with wide array of packages with different incentives or promotional offers when shopping for broadband services. Very often that consumer found it hard to decide on which package has the best value for money.
Supported by the Office of Telecommunications Authority, the survey results help to provide indicative pricing information to the public. The survey questionnaire be accessed through the Council's website.
Upon completion of the survey questionnaire, participants can enter a lucky draw with the chance of winning one-year free online CHOICE magazine. The total number of winners will be 100.
The information gathered from the survey will be analysed and then disseminated through the Consumer Council's online platform. Consumers can make use of the timely information on residential broadband services to make informed choices that best suit their needs and budgets.
The Council believes that the broadband service information platform will bring about efficient competition in the market due to the enhanced price transparency. Consumers will be able to access easily to price information and promotion offered in the market.
