  • 2021.05.31

The Consumer Council announced today (31 May) that, in response to the Government’s vaccination leave arrangement for government employees, the Council would introduce vaccination leave for all Council full-time employees, including staff on temporary engagement and summer interns.  Application details have been released to all staff.

The Council will provide a day’s paid leave for Council employees per dose, up to a maximum of two, with the first dose taken on or before 31 August 2021. The vaccination leave must be exhausted on or before 31 March 2022 and employees could apply for such leaves via the normal leave application procedures.

Employees who have already received vaccinations would also be eligible for the leaves with expiry date falling on 31 March 2022.

The Council’s Chief Executive Ms Gilly Wong Fung-han said, “In light of the global spread of COVID-19, the Council hopes this measure can encourage employees to get their vaccinations soonest in order to safeguard their own selves, their family as well as public health of the society at large. Those who are in doubt should consult their family doctors before booking the COVID-19 vaccination. All Council employees would continue to implement comprehensive protective measures to help fight COVID-19.”
