The Consumer Council will keep its complaint and advice service in operation throughout the week-long Labour Day holiday period.
This is to enable consumer complaints from mainland visitors to be dealt with promptly should they need assistance from the Council.
The Council's hotline 2929 2222 will be manned on the Labour Day public holiday on May 1 (Tuesday) and at the weekends of May 5-6 (Saturday and Sunday).
Staff will be on standby to offer assistance at the Complaint and Advice Centre located at Room 1410, Kodak House II, 39 Healthy Street East, North Point, Hong Kong, during office hours from 9:00am to 6:00pm on those days.
To heighten their awareness and provide shopping advice, the Council will be distributing a pamphlet containing useful and practical information to assist mainland tourists when shopping in Hong Kong.
Mainland visitors will be distributed the pamphlet upon their arrival at Lo Wu, at the KCRC Hospitality Counter, during the golden week.
