According to information from IKEA, IRIS and ALVINE Roman blinds do not comply in full with a voluntary US industry safety standard for this type of product. The standard requires that blind operating cords are fitted with cord stops to reduce the risk of entanglement in cord loops.
IKEA recommends all customers who have IRIS or ALVINE Roman blind with date stamp 0823 and earlier to attach the cord stop. The company logo, supplier number and date stamp appear on a white label attached to the blind. IRIS and ALVINE Roman blinds with date stamp 0830 and later are fitted with cord stops and comply in full with the voluntary standard.
